App Store · Country or Region

Storefront and account region

Purchases and installation for Shadowrocket are handled through the App Store. Shadowrocket is not available in the China mainland storefront. If it doesn’t appear in search, check your account’s storefront rather than repeatedly changing the app name. Some Chinese-speaking users call Shadowrocket “Little Rocket,” but make sure you verify the product name and identifying details listed on this page when purchasing. The nickname alone is not enough to identify the app.

The country or region associated with your Apple ID determines which storefront you see. Your device’s physical location, system language, and the account region used for media and purchases are three different things. Changing your device language or opening a storefront page for another region in a browser does not change your account’s storefront. Before buying, check the account, price, and purchase prompt shown in the App Store.

Check your account’s region

On your device, go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. Depending on your system version, the account entry may show your name or Apple Account. Open your account information to check the current country or region. To find the option for changing it, look for “Change Country or Region” in the same section; follow the instructions shown on your device.

Changing regions may involve requirements related to your account balance, existing subscriptions, payment methods, or Family Sharing settings. Read the prompts on your device before deciding whether to continue. This page explains where to find the setting but cannot guarantee that every account can change regions. Seeing a product page for another region in a browser does not mean your account is eligible to purchase there.

The App Store button on this page links to the same Shadowrocket product listing. If you see a message that the app isn’t available in your region, check your account details. Don’t buy another app based only on a similar name in search results. If you haven’t verified the app yet, pause the purchase and follow the checks in the next section.

Shadowrocket Three Ways to Verify the App

A similar name or icon color is not enough to confirm an app’s identity. On the App Store product page, check the developer, official icon, and app ID together. Make sure all three match the same product before reviewing the price. Search placement, description text, and nicknames used by other people are no substitute for these details.

Developer: Check the full name

The developer should be Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Check the developer information on the product page, not just the search snippet or a sentence in the app description. If the name is hard to find, open the full product details and make sure you haven’t mistaken a name mentioned in the description for the actual developer.

Official icon: a rocket outlined in blue and purple on white

The official icon is a rocket outlined in blue and purple on a white background. The icon shown here uses the same official asset as the one in this site’s header. Check the rocket artwork itself, not the rounded corners or display size of the system icon container. Always verify it alongside the developer and app ID.

App ID: 932747118

The App Store product URL linked on this page ends with id932747118. The app ID identifies the specific product; it is not a version number or purchase order number. If another result has the same name but a different ID in its product URL, it isn’t the Shadowrocket listing linked here.

To verify the app, open the App Store button at the top of this page. Check the product name and developer, then confirm the icon and app ID in the URL. If you can’t view the full URL in the App Store, return to your browser and check the store link on this page. Complete your price, compatibility, and purchase checks in the App Store.

Shadowrocket updates are also managed through the App Store. Check the App Store settings on your device to see whether automatic updates are enabled. To review changes, see the update history on the product page. App updates do not update your personal configuration; check these separately.

iPhone · First-time purchase

Buying and opening Shadowrocket on iPhone

Open the App Store product page on your iPhone. First, confirm the Apple ID you use for purchases, then check compatibility and payment details. See the App Store listing for system requirements. Being able to open the product page does not guarantee that your device meets the current purchase or usage requirements. Read any messages shown next to the purchase button before continuing.

After payment, wait until the App Store shows that the app is ready to open, then launch Shadowrocket from your Home Screen. If the download takes a while, check available storage, your network connection, and the App Store’s download status. Follow the App Store prompts for issues related to system requirements, billing verification, or your local network. There’s no need to adjust app protocol settings before installation is complete.

VPN configuration permission appears when you connect

The first time you try to connect, your device may ask you to allow a VPN configuration and confirm with device authentication. This prompt lets iPhone create the required system network configuration; it is not another app purchase. Check that the prompt follows an action you just initiated and that you’re ready to use your own configuration before allowing it.

Granting permission does not provide server details. You’ll still need to import your own subscription or enter your existing settings in Add Server, then check your Global Routing selection. Once you’ve purchased and installed the app, follow the Getting Started Guide to import your configuration, choose a mode, connect, and verify the result.

If you’ve purchased Shadowrocket before, first look under your App Store account and purchased items. If the option to redownload appears, follow the purchased-app flow. If the app still shows a price, don’t pay again straight away; first check whether the account used for media and purchases is the one that made the original purchase.

iPad · Get a previous purchase

Using Shadowrocket on iPad and other compatible devices

With the same Apple ID on iPhone and iPad, you can use the same purchase history to get Shadowrocket on both devices. On your iPad, check the account used for App Store purchases, then open the product page or your purchased items. See the App Store listing for universal purchase terms and system requirements. Using the same cloud account on both devices does not necessarily mean the purchasing account is the same.

The iPad’s larger display may show lists and details differently from the iPhone; the exact layout depends on the app. Interface labels such as Home, Config, and Settings can still help you find the relevant sections in this manual. Button positions do not have to match the iPhone instructions exactly.

Purchase history and device configuration are managed separately

Getting Shadowrocket from your iPad purchase history gives you access to the app; it does not automatically transfer subscriptions, server settings, or rules from another device. Check what’s already on this device, then import your own information as needed. Keep links or configurations containing credentials secure, and don’t include them in public screenshots or text.

The compatibility section of the same App Store listing also includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. To use Shadowrocket on one of these devices, check the same product in that device’s App Store. System requirements, device compatibility, and universal purchase terms are determined by the App Store listing. Instructions for iPhone and iPad may not apply to other devices.

Purchase history · Redownload

Restoring purchases after changing or reinstalling a device

If you switch to a new iPhone or iPad, or reinstall the app after removing it, start by finding your purchase history. Using the Apple ID that made the original purchase, open App Store → Account → Purchased, find Shadowrocket, and download it again. You can usually do this without paying again. Depending on your system version, the relevant option may be under apps or purchase history; follow the labels shown on your device.

Can’t find the purchase? Check your account first

First, check the account used for media and purchases, not just the account shown at the top of Settings. They may be different. If you’re unsure which account made the original purchase, check your own purchase records and App Store history. Don’t try to identify the right account by repeatedly paying.

If you’ve hidden a purchase, check for it in your account settings. Changing your account region may also affect whether the app appears in the storefront. For an unavailable product, an unexpected order, or a billing message, use the account support options provided by the App Store. The exact message shown by your device can help identify the issue more clearly than simply saying you can’t restore the app.

Check your own configuration after reinstalling

Your app purchase history and in-app data are separate. After redownloading Shadowrocket, check your existing lists and configuration files, then import your own saved subscription or server details as needed. If your old device is still available, make sure your information is saved before you stop using it. Restoring a purchase does not restore your configuration.

After importing, check that the address, port, protocol, and credentials are still valid, then review your rule file and Global Routing. Restoring the app through your account does not guarantee that previously used connection details are still valid. Complete installation and configuration checks before testing the connection to avoid confusing account issues with configuration problems.

One-time purchase · What the price covers

Shadowrocket pricing and one-time purchase

Shadowrocket is a paid, closed-source commercial app. The US storefront reference price is $2.99 as a one-time purchase. Other storefronts show local currency; the final amount appears on the App Store purchase confirmation screen. Prices, tax display, and purchase terms may vary by storefront, so the reference price is not a fixed amount for every account.

A one-time purchase means you pay once for the app itself, rather than paying a monthly app fee. After purchase, the App Store manages redownloads and updates. When you change devices, use the original purchasing account to find your purchased items. An app purchase receipt is not a server account, and the app payment is separate from any connection service billing.

What to check before paying

Verify the app’s three identifying details first, then check the purchasing account, currency, and final amount. If you’ve already bought the app, look for it in your purchased items before paying again. For a payment issue, check the order status in the App Store. Don’t submit the purchase repeatedly just because the button hasn’t updated. For billing or refund questions, use the account support options provided by the App Store.

Also check whether you already have usable subscription or server details. The app reads configurations, connects using the specified protocol, and applies rules. Connection results still depend on server status, protocol settings, your local network, and configuration details. Buying the app does not replace these requirements or guarantee a successful connection.

What to do after purchase

Open the app and confirm it launches, then choose how to import your own information. If you use a subscription, check that the link is complete. To add a server manually, select the protocol that matches your existing details in Add Server. Then choose Config, Proxy, or Direct as needed. See Proxy Modes for details.

If you’re unfamiliar with the English interface, use the Glossary to find settings. Learn what each label does before changing anything; changing one setting at a time makes results easier to check. Handle purchase questions in the App Store, and check your configuration and network for connection issues. Keep the two troubleshooting paths separate.

Download and purchase FAQs

Check the storefront, account, and device first; then troubleshoot installation and configuration.

What should I do if Shadowrocket doesn’t appear in App Store search?

First, check the country or region for the Apple ID used for media and purchases. Shadowrocket is not available in the China mainland storefront; your account’s country or region determines which storefront you can access. Open the product page using the App Store button on this page, then verify the developer and app ID. Availability for purchase depends on the current storefront and account conditions.

The product page opens, but I can’t download the app. What should I check first?

Note the exact message shown by the App Store, then check your account region, payment status, device compatibility, available storage, and network connection. If you’ve purchased the app before, look under your purchased items first. For purchase or billing issues, use the account support options provided by the App Store; don’t repeatedly submit the payment.

Do I have to pay again when I get a new device or reinstall Shadowrocket?

Using the Apple ID that made the original purchase, find Shadowrocket in your App Store account or purchased items. You can usually download it again without paying. Purchase history does not back up app configurations; on a new device, you’ll still need to import your own subscription or server details.

I bought Shadowrocket on iPhone. Can I install it on iPad?

You can use the same Apple ID purchase history to get Shadowrocket on both iPhone and iPad. On your iPad, check the account used for App Store purchases and confirm device compatibility. See the App Store listing for system requirements and general purchase terms.

Can I install Shadowrocket on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?

The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check the App Store on the device you plan to use. System requirements, device compatibility, and whether the purchase is universal are determined by the App Store listing.

The app interface is in English. How can I find instructions?

This manual keeps English interface labels such as Home, Add Server, Global Routing, Config, and Settings, and explains what they do. Look up the labels as they appear in the app to find the relevant tutorials and glossary entries. The interface language does not determine whether an app is genuine.
